World Whiskey Society recently released a series of 10-year-old wheated bourbons, and I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to sample two of them. These whiskeys, one finished in cognac casks and the other in port casks, were extremely limited production bottlings, with 451 bottles and 620 released, respectively. As I’ve oft-stated, I’m not much of a bourbon fan, favoring malt whiskeys (Scotch, Irish, American, and Indian malts, to name a few), but I was intrigued by these limited bottlings and, of course, how could I say no to free samples?
